The Newman Media Center supports students, staff, and the greater Newman community by:
providing lessons and materials to support the curriculum
promoting skills and critical thinking to locate, evaluate, and use information
supporting a lifelong love of reading
Student Information and Media/Technology Skills
Students in grades K-5 visit the library once a week for a media lesson and book circulation. Students are welcome any time with permission from their teachers in order to do research or choose a book to read.
The Media Center curriculum has three strands: Literacy, Research, and Technology, in accordance with the Needham Public Schools and addresses the Needham Public Schools Media and Technology Standards. Media classes relate to the units of study in individual classrooms,and teachers may bring their classes to
the media center beyond the weekly scheduled class time.
